The call for applications is open from December 8 to January 8, with decisions announced at the end of January. One Week Wonder takes place during Week 35 and ends with a performance of the piece during Brådjupa Blekinge Dansfestival. We are looking for a choreographer interested in working with emerging dancers.

In 2016, Dans i Blekinge started the project One Week Wonder, previously known as Unga Dansare. The project aims to provide dancers and performing artists who are still in training or have recently completed their education with the opportunity to work with a professional choreographer for one week. During this week, the dancers collaborate with the choreographer in the creation and development of a performing arts piece. With One Week Wonder, our goal is to give the dancers a chance to develop their artistry, gain inspiration for their continued studies, and acquire work experience at an early stage in their careers.
Now we are happy to open the application for choreographers!
We are looking for a choreographer who would like to work with four young dancers and create a piece for them. Everyone is welcome to apply. Connection to Blekinge is a plus.
About the work:
You as a choreographer choose your method, theme and way to work. You will work daytime in a studio in Karlshamn. The work is to result in a 20-30 min piece created by you for the dancers, the piece will be shown at Brådjupa Blekinge Dansfestival. Exact schedule and dates will be specified later but you need to be available from 22/8 to 30/8.
The work implies:
- A week with 4 young dancers in a studio.
- Travels to and from Karlshamn. (preferably train, bus or boat)
- Accommodation in Karlshamn.
- 25 000 kr (excluding VAT).
- Display of the work at Brådjupa Blekinge dance festival.
How to apply:
Last day to apply is 8th of January. We want to know who you are, your working and educational experience and your vision as a choreographer for One Week Wonder. All applicants will get a response by the end of january.
