About the residency

Blekinge Dance Residency is a place where artists are invited to focus and explore. A space for responsiveness and sensitivity to nuances, a moving place in dialogue with the surroundings.

 

The residency wants to encourage being in the unknown, to follow your intuition and to create something untested rather than presenting finished works. We like to see that applicants are interested in the meeting of different places and people, city and nature.

 

The residency wants to promote opportunities for local, national and international exchange.

 

Arrangement

Week 33 Massmanska kvarnen, a visit to Tjärö where an Artist Talk will be held during PLX, weekend the 17th - 19th of August.

Week 34 Massmanska kvarnen

Week 35 Massmanska kvarnen, a residency showing will be held on the 2nd of September.

 

Included in the residency 

• Travel expenses back and forth to Ronneby up to 5,000 SEK /residency artist/group (only for train, bus or boat trips).

• A grant of 28,000 SEK(ex. VAT)on invoice per artist/group. DiB is not able to pay the grant as a salary.

• Documentation of the work in the form of film and photo.

• Free studio time

• Accommodation (hostel)

• Daily training

• Feedback sessions with a knowledgeable person within the field, if desired.

• Transport back and forth to Tjärö during PLX.

 

Not included in the residency

• Expenses for food.

• Insurance.

• Travel exceeding the aforementioned amount.

 

Expectations of the artists

• Lead daily training.

• Participate in Artist Talk at PLX and/or Lokstallarna Karlshamn.

• Present at the end of the residency period at Massmanska Kvarnen or another place in Ronneby.
